Marilyn Mickiewicz

December 20, 1930 — August 26, 2015

Marilyn Joyce Mickiewicz was born on December 20, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida to Earl and Annie Carter. She married Bill Mickiewicz on December 7, 1947 and they were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in June of 1965. She is the mother of six children, grandma to 12 grandchildren and great grandma to 14 great grandchildren.
Marilyn leaves behind daughter Joy Seaman (Ron), sons Rob (Sara), Rick, Rusty, Randy (Nancy), and daughter Jeannie Durrant (Doug).
The family lived in many different locations during Bill’s service with the Navy before his retirement in 1961. They settled in Oxnard, California where they resided for 40 years before moving to American Fork, Utah in 2001.
Mom loved cooking and baking and won a blue ribbon at the Ventura County Fair for her famous cinnamon rolls. She was crazy about her children and grandchildren and would do anything to make them laugh. She truly was a character throughout her life! Our Lucille Ball!
She and dad were great partners in dance, having won several trophies for jitter bug contests and others. We loved watching them put on a little demonstration of their talent while growing up.
Mom loved the Gospel and enjoyed reading scriptures and autobiographies of Church Leaders. She enjoyed teaching early morning seminary for two years in the 1980’s.
She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 S. State Street, Sandy, Utah 84070. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
