On Monday, August 8th, 2016 “Marilyn left this world and has now been returned to star dust from whence she came.” ~ Her beloved spouse
Born May 12, 1934 in Salt Lake City, UT to Clyde and Margaret Ridd. She married Dean A. Pyper on March 7th, 1951 celebrating their 65th anniversary this year!
Marilyn was an avid reader and enjoyed the simple things in life, all the birds who came to feed everyday especially the Blue jays and Hummingbirds. Thank you Randy for setting up all the feeders! She loved flowers, particularly The Rose of Sharon, which was her favorite. She liked to garden in the early years. Mom was easily entertained by the various animated musical and dancing stuffed characters that were given to her as gifts, which showed her sense of humor and the youthfulness in her personality. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. If you were to ask any one of them what they remember the most about her it would be the love of fish crackers and the bluebird of happiness. She enjoyed cutting out various political & humorous articles, printing copies and giving them to family and friends. She never forgot anyone’s birthdays and would often include various stickers and car air fresheners in their cards and on occasion, photos of the beautiful sunsets she took. Mom always made birthdays and holidays memorable. She spent tireless hours working and providing photo albums for each of her 6 children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and laughed often. A very kind and gracious person to anyone who crossed her path. A beautiful lady inside and out.
One very simple thing she looked forward to every week no matter how she felt were her Saturday hair appointments with Andrea. She took great care of mom and made her feel special. They would enjoy various types of conversations especially politics. She loved talking politics! Thank you Andrea for spiffing up mom every week!
Throughout her lifetime she had many loving friends who have passed before her. LaRayne her last and only friend was always there for her to the very end.
“Celebration of her Life” took place at the Pyper residence on August 14th ending with a sentiment of colorful balloons that were released as a finale.
She is survived by her loving husband and companion Dean Pyper. 6 children: Laurie (Robert) Gallegos, Shelly Loomer, Darren Pyper, Julie (Jeff) Sanders, Shawn Pyper and Scott Pyper. 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 1 sister, Sheri (Wilf) Heyman and many niece’s and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and their husbands Beverly (Jerry) Zimmerman and Carol (Steve) Zimmerman.
We would like to thank our youngest brother Scott who has autism for all the love and dedication in taking care of our dear mother. She depended on his help and was so appreciative of all he did for her.
Thank you to all who cared for her at St Mark’s Hospital and the staff at Heartwood Hospice Care.
One of our mother’s favorite quotes: When we open our senses to nature, and our hearts to friends, we discover something beautiful.Service Information
