Marilyn Jean Bailey, Feb 20, 1938 ~ May 3, 2014, beloved mother and friend, peacefully passed away early May 3, surrounded by her children, Layne, Cristi, Jennifer and Nannette—who was surely in the room waiting to welcome her home. Her passing followed a brief battle with an aggressive Thymic cancer. She is also survived by her sister Deanna, three grandchildren, Jason, Holly and Sam, and five great-grandchildren…and her adored, spoiled dogs, Bennie, Lola and Tazee. Marilyn was born in Junction, Utah, and lived most of her life in Salt Lake City. With her late husband, Robert D. “Bill” Bailey, she founded and ran a local heavy-haul trucking business throughout the 1990’s. At his passing she relocated to Southern California, finally settling in Palm Springs. She was a perfect mother, grandmother and sister, wonderful, supportive, encouraging and above all unconditionally loving, and we consider ourselves truly blessed to have had her as ours. She is already sorely missed by all of us who were fortunate to have known her and shared in her life journey. A viewing will be held at Memorial Estates Redwood Thursday, May 8 from six to eight in the evening. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 9 at eleven in the morning. A donation to your favorite animal welfare charity would surely make her smile.
