Marilyn Adcox

July 26, 1941 — December 4, 2014

Marilyn Kay Adcox of Murray passed away on December 4, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on July 26, 1941. She and her brother Jerry Lee were adopted by their parents, Floyd and Esther Altig. They moved to Portland, Oregon and later to Quincy, Washington, where Marilyn met and married her companion of 53 years, Loyd Dennis Adcox. The couple moved to Salt Lake City where they raised their three children, Michael Cameron, Denise Kay and Jerry Lee.
Marilyn had a passion for travel. She and Dennis spent many happy hours on road trips all over the western United States and Canada, cruising the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Hawaii. Marilyn especially loved their trips to Europe and the British Isles. Vancouver Island was also one of her favorite spots.
Marilyn was a Laureate Nu Chapter member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. For several years she was also active with the Cottonwood Little League football program as a board member, but her favorite job was as a team mother for her son, Michael.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Dennis, sons Michael Cameron, Jerry Lee (Michelle, div.) and daughter Denise Kay (Terry) Pilon, and 6 grandchildren: Erik, Taylor, Alexis, Brandyn, Megyn, and Rylee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Esther Altig.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will follow at Murray City Cemetery.
