Marian Nelson Jensen

January 10, 1928 — October 16, 2018

Marian Nelson Jensen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Marian passed away at age 90 on October 16, 2018 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by her family. She was born January 10, 1928 in Jensen, Utah to Marion Harden Nelson and Anna Marie Hollenbeck.
Marian was the only daughter of Harden Sr. and Marie Nelson, she had two younger brothers Harden Jr., and Wayne Nelson. The family lived in Rainbow, Utah a mining community where her father was a general foreman for the American Gilsonite for 23 years. The family then moved to Grand Junction, CO for her to attend school. Her father continued to commute back and forth from Rainbow, UT to Grand Junction, CO. The family moved to Salt Lake City, UT during World War II, for her father to find a better job. Marian graduated from South High School in 1946.
Marian married her sweetheart Virgil Lee Jensen on April 27, 1946 in Salt Lake City. They have been married for 72 years and together they raised three children, Larry Lee Jensen, Connie Jensen Miller and Kathy Jensen Wall. Being a wife and mother was her greatest accomplishment in life. She was the type of mother that loved her children unconditionally and enjoyed watching and supporting them in achieving their goals in life. She was the world’s greatest grandma, she loved being a grandma and her grandchildren love her very much. She loved to scrapbook and made a handmade card for each of her children and grandchildren for their birthdays each year.
Marian was an accomplished seamstress specializing in draperies and eventually starting her own drapery business. She supported and traveled with Virg who did outside part sales for Rick Warner Ford. Together they built the largest Ford parts inventory in the nation. They enjoyed being together and did everything as a couple. She always wanted to be with her sweetheart, Virg no matter what he was doing. As a couple they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, they went on many camping trips, either hunting, fishing or just getting outdoors spending time together as a family. They built a cabin so that the family would have a place to spend time together including building and decorating many 4th of July Floats in Tabiona, UT. Marian found joy being with her family and created many wonderful memories with her family.
Marian is survived by her husband, Virgil Lee Jensen, son Larry Lee Jensen (Toni) and their children Johanna Yerke, Jenny Sorensen, Lee Jensen, Kelly Jensen and Kurt Jensen. Two daughters Connie Jensen Miller (Jim) and their children Robyn Epley, Bryan Miller, Russell Miller, and Jaime Speirs and Kathy Jensen Wall (Mike) and their children Eric Wall, Chris Wall, Justin Wall and Tyler Wall and her 19 great grandchildren.
