Marian E. Paskett

January 27, 1932 — July 9, 2018

Our beloved mother, Marian Edna Pyper Paskett, age 86, passed away Monday, July 9th, of natural causes surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 27, 1932, to Harold Pyper and Edna Rose Schacht in Wells, Nevada, where she was raised.  She was the 3rd child born with 1 brother and 3 sisters.  After her high school graduation, she started nursing school at Westminster College in SLC, Utah.  She met the love of her life, William Keith Paskett, while at a sleepover at her cousin, Joanne Dalton’s house in Clover Valley, Nevada.  As mom tells the story, he and his brother, David, rode up on their dashing white stallions (Dad says they were just old and brown).  She and dad married on October 18, 1951, while dad was stationed in the Army at Fort Irwin, California. Marriage later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple.  She wasn’t impressed with military housing in the desert.  Then came the family–2 girls and 2 boys.  Mom always had homemade bread and jam, or cookies and milk when we came home from school.  She loved to read and quilt and every one of her posterity has something she has made.   Mom was very quiet, doing kind things without a lot of fanfare.  She was a foster mom to many little babies when we were teenagers.  Her favorite spot on earth was with the little children in Primary.  She was constantly supportive of dad in his church callings, as well as all of her children and grandchildren. She spent the past 6 years on dialysis and doing her best to take care of dad.
We all honor her and know she is welcomed with open arms by her Heavenly Father, family and friends.  “Well done, thou good and faithful servant….” Matt.25:21.  She was a wonderful mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Stanley (Dean) Pyper, and 2 sisters, Helen Pyper, and Pauline Pyper.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William (Bill), of Bountiful, UT.  Also, her sister, Lola Pyper (La Palma, CA), and children: Carol Heywood (Steve-West Bountiful, UT), Deborah Bryce (Ed-Ewa Beach, HI), Edwin (Teresa-Norwalk, CA) and Russell (Joan-Farmington, UT).  She is the proud Grandma to 19 grandchildren and 30 great- grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, July 14th, at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 E. Lakeview Dr, Bountiful, UT, at 12 noon with viewing at the Memorial Lakeview Mortuary 1 hr. prior.  Thank you to Legacy House (Bountiful, UT), Tender Care Hospice (Bountiful, UT), Liberty/Fresenius Dialysis (Woods Cross, UT) and especially Destiny who cared for her and loved her like she was her own mother. Thanks also to Dr. Scott Beckstead who cared for mom ever since she and dad moved to Utah.   Dad is ready to be taken as soon as the Lord needs him.  He will have to wait until mom hugs everyone first.  Rest in Peace, mom.  We will take good care of dad.
