Maria “Oma” Maul Petzinger

October 29, 1912 — November 24, 2018

Maria Maul “Oma” Petzinger, 106 years old, died on November 24, 2018 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was born on October 29, 1912 in Darmstadt, Germany to Adam Maul and Margarete Burger Maul. Maria was the youngest of 10 children. She married Adalbert Karl Petzinger on June 25, 1938, later solemnized in the Swiss Temple in 1957. Maria was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized in Germany in 1952 with her husband and children. Maria, Adalbert and Erika emigrated to America in 1959 to join her sons.
She enjoyed art, knitting, crocheting, cooking, swimming and gardening. Maria was our dear mother “Oma,” grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved her family and had 3 children, Werner, Manfred and Erika.
She is survived by her children: Manfred (Charmaine) Petzinger; Erika (Clair) Jensen, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Maul and Margarete Burger Maul; husband, Adalbert Karl Petzinger (July 1, 1994); son, Werner, and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray. A viewing will be one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery following the services.
