Maria Dolores Isabell Martinez Kunz

November 9, 1946 — November 17, 2024

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on November 17, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on November 9, 1946, in Abiquiu, New Mexico to David Martinez and Maria Delores Lola Manzanares.

Isabell married Wendall Woodard on March 14, 194. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 30, 1978. They had three children: Wendall Lee, Leslid Marie, and Vickie Ann. They later divorced on August 28, 1986. Their temple sealing was canceled on February 22, 2011.

Isabell met Gary Lyn Kunz at a dance in October of 1992. They were married on February 14, 1993. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple on March 24, 2011.

Isabell had a love for life. She loved her family dearly. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Isabell had a love and passion for collecting beautiful things. Her pride and joy was her amazing doll collection.

Isabell worked in the banking business for many years. She had various jobs with them, her last being an underwriter. She worked very hard.

Isabell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many callings with her favorite being a primary teacher for six and a half years. She served as a door greeter with her husband for many years. She also served a church service mission with her husband, Gary. She enjoyed working in the temple doing proxy sealings for the dead.

Isabell was brave and strong. She fought a valiant battle to live her life. She suffered many years with Lupas and dementia. Dementia finally won the battle after it stole her memories and eventually her life.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sandstone Holladay Care Center where she lived for the last three years of her life. They all cared for Isabell with dedicated love and compassion. The family would also like to thank Serenity Hospice for their loving care. There are living angels here on this earth. Many of them work for Sandstone Holladay and Serenity.

Isabell is survived by her husband Gary Lynn Kunz; children Wendall Lee Woodard, Leslie Marie Hughes, and Vickie Ann Westergard; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister Vilalia Veta Quintana Jaremello.
