Maria Wilhelmina Johanna Brijs, age 97, passed away on April 12, 2021 in Riverton, Utah. She was born on April 28, 1923 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands to Leendert and Magdalena Brijs.
Services for Maria will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary located at 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. A viewing will be held one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 AM at the same location. Interment to follow services.

Hello!
My name is Maria W. J. Brijs. Also known as Riet, and Marie. I am the oldest of three. I was born in Rotterdam Netherlands. I had my schooling in Holland and have a degree in Fashion Design. In 1953 we came to Salt Lake City and I worked for Pullman Tailors and J.C. Penny in the data entry center. I retired after 25 years there. Mom was ill and so I took care of her. Then I took care of Dad and traveled with him. So, that was my life. Goodbye. Golden day and Tot Ziens (Good Bye) in Dutch.
Hello again. I volunteered for the Sandy Senior Center and also for Senior Tours.
