Mari Lou Wood

November 24, 1921 — January 8, 2016

Mari Lou Wood, whose warmth and welcoming smile brought happiness to so many, passed away January 8, 2016.
Born Mary Louise Dickson to Mary Ann Cobabe and Arthur Norton Dickson in Albion, Idaho on November 24, 1921, she grew up with three brothers. On July 8, 1944 she married her sweetheart David Ford Wood in Salt Lake City.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
A graduate of Woodbury College in Fashion Arts, she had a fulfilling career of 25 years working at the University Of Utah College Of Business. Her job enabled her to travel the world and fulfill a particular dream of seeing Australia and the Great Barrier Reef.  A big part of her enjoyment came in making international friendships she cherished throughout her life.
In later years, Mari Lou became an avid gardener. Her yard was breathtaking.  She delighted in flowers of all kinds and collected blossoms of all shapes and colors.  She spent many hours with her sister-in-law Irene pressing flowers and creating beautiful floral gift cards which she shared with friends and family.
She is survived by her three children Liane Stillman (Larry), Lauren Caudell (Doug), David Wood (Debbie), 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and brother, Dwight Dickson. She was preceded in death by her husband David, daughter-in-law Carla, grandson Jason, and brothers Norvin and Fred.  We will miss you, dear Mom.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the services.  Interment in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
