Marguretta A. Bourne, 86, passed away at her home in Bountiful, Utah on Nov. 16, 2019. Marge was born on September 2, 1933 to Terrell and Arabell Atwood in Vernal, Utah and grew up in Oregon. Marge had a love of music and developed a beautiful singing voice. As a young lady, she served a local mission in Oregon for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her father Terrell. She later entered the Miss Oregon beauty contest and was named Miss Congeniality. She earned a degree from BYU in elementary education and worked for a few years as a second-grade teacher at Hillsdale Elementary in Salt Lake City, Utah before leaving it to marry Dr. Hal H. Bourne. They were later divorced. Marge loved to travel and went on a study abroad to France while attending BYU. Marge was an excellent cook and enjoyed painting, needlework and embroidery, which she did throughout her life and created beautiful quilts, costumes and Christmas stockings for her family. Her artistic talents led to her becoming a docent at the University of Utah Museum of Fine Arts for several years. Marge loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed playing games and putting puzzles together with them. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and took many institute classes until late in her life. She served in many callings and was a temple worker throughout much of her adult life. Marge is survived by her daughter Rebecca B. Case (Noel) and Jonathan C. Bourne and has many nieces, nephews and grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and two brothers, including a twin who died at birth. A graveside service in her honor was previously held at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah.
