Margaret L. A. Clark

January 15, 1932 — February 25, 2016

Margaret Lillian Affleck Clark (Peggy) passed away after a meaningful life full of service to family, church and friends.
Born January 15, 1932 to Gordon Burt Affleck and Abbie Josephine Fisher; she was the second of two daughters. She lived her early childhood in New York City and then relocated to Salt Lake City for the rest of her youth.
Peggy cultivated talents such as playing the piano and painting. She loved to read and enjoyed classical literature and the scriptures. While in college Peggy won a contest to be a guest editor for Mademoiselle Magazine. She graduated from Brigham Young University in English Literature.
In 1953 she married Dr. Homer H. Clark in the Salt Lake Temple. By mid-1957, Peggy had two youngsters under the age of one. Despite these two infants’ efforts to create havoc, Peggy had the household well in hand with her excellent organizational skills, which she honed for the rest of her life. Peggy was called to serve in many church and civic organizations. She was called to serve on the Young Women’s General Board for the L.D.S. Church. Peggy organized the Utah Symphony Ball two times. In her later years she was active in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Peggy has always been interested in her personal heritage and genealogy. She had the opportunity to tour many historic family sites in England with her son Gordon, after his mission, including the home of her great great Grandmother who joined the church in the 1800’s. Peggy has been supporting efforts for continued research in her family line.
Peggy is survived by her two children: Allison C. Isom (Layne) Idaho Falls, and Gordon A. Clark (Lisa); eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Dana, sister Jo Ann, and husband Dr. Homer Hone Clark.
The family wishes to thank Peggy’s wonderful neighbors and Copper Ridge Health Care for its exceptional service.
