Margaret Clegg Gregson Chapman

April 23, 1938 — June 1, 2018

Margaret left this earthly journey surrounded by her loved ones to go on her heavenly journey. Margaret was born in Macclesfield Cheshire England to Joseph and Doris Gregson. She had one sibling a beautiful sister that she adored, Shirley Gregson Mullins and talked to her every day.
Margaret met James E. Chapman while on his LDS mission in England, they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple and had 6 beautiful children together, later divorced. Margaret married Adam Franchow in 1995 in St. George, Utah
Margaret had many accomplishments in her life. She raised 6 beautiful wonderful healthy children that she loved dearly and put first and foremost in her life as a single mother. Working several jobs to pay for college, Margaret graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude from Westminister College in 1982. Master’s Degree in Social Work with honors from the University of Utah 1984 and also obtained her status as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In 2002 Margaret was honored with the prestigious award Social Worker of the Year. Margaret worked for the State of Utah in Family and Child Preservation, had her own Child and Family private practice with long-time dear friend Kenneth Hennefer with the emphasis on Marriage and Family Services, working on keeping families together. Margaret was court appointed (hand chosen) by the judge in the courts system and held in high regard for her heart felt thoroughness in doing what is right and just for families in crisis.
Margaret loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, with her family. Building and caring for her fish ponds, flowers, being in the sun and was very artistic. She enjoyed pottery and loved painting both oil and watercolor. Margaret was the most beautiful artist. Her family and friends are blessed with the beautiful pictures she has painted.
Margaret was an elegant gracious beautiful woman who loved her kids dearly and always made family her priority. She was the glue that held the family together. She understood the importance of traditions and was always working on plans to get the family together. Margaret had a light that brightened everyone around her. Her love, was like an ever flowing, never ending river; full of peace, generosity, and sincerity. She loved like no other and gave all she had to all she came in contact with. Her zest for life was contagious, her smile was infectious, and her heart was pure.
Words cannot express what an amazing, distinguished, intelligent, loving and caring woman Margaret was. She was so independent and had such a driving spirit and tenacity, there was nothing she couldn’t do once she set her mind to it. She affectionately touched thousands of lives while here on earth. Auntie Shirley (sister) said she has achieved our Lord’s works, met and exceeded many times over and over her patriarchal blessing of gifts, knowledge and strength of life’s challenges and blessings. Margaret has always been our Super Mom! She was Magical like fairy dust, where ever she was, her beauty abound. Margaret will live in our hearts forever.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Adam Franchow, children, David (Tammie) Chapman, Andrew (Rosa) Chapman, Elaine Schmidt, Jennifer (Dennis) Wolf, John (Jenny) Chapman, Bruce (Ange) Chapman, 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Alexandra (Kyle), Jessica, Joseph, Isabelle, and Nicholas and 8 great grandchildren, Sister, Shirley (Denny) Mullins, and lots of nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Doris Gregson.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 12 noon at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery.
