Marcella Urry

April 30, 1924 — February 24, 2015

On February 24, 2015, after 92 years of a beautiful life, our dear mother slipped into eternity. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent her life in the service of her family. She loved and nurtured her children and grandchildren with unconditional love.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her, and her pleasant manner. She was always good for a hand-mixed milkshake, and conversation. Marcella loved her family, and took a great deal of pride in their accomplishments.
She was born on April 30, 1924, to John Raymond and Alice Melissa Schoenfeld, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She spent a good deal of her childhood in Winnemucca and Elko Nevada, with her two “big” brothers, Vern and Ed, and her four sisters, Juanita, Grace, Rhea and Gwen. She had an older sister, Myrle, that died in infancy.
She married A. Leroy Urry on August 24, 1945, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children; Stephen (Kathy), Lawrence (Robynn), Rebecca (Larry), Barry (Barbara), Rob (Stephanie) and Elizabeth (Brad). She had 32 grandchildren, and 55 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband (A. Leroy), a grandson (Roger L. Urry), and a son-in-law (Brad V. Severson), and her parents, and all of her brothers and sisters.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in which she held many, many positions of leadership and responsibility. She is already, sorely missed, but her family knows that she is with her sweetheart, Roy.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Greenfield Chapel at 6600 So. Greenfield Way. A funeral in her honor will be Monday, March 2 at Greenfield Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Friends can call on Monday, one hour before the service. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park.
