Magdalina “Maggie” Madrid

Magdalina “Maggie” Madrid, age 81, passed away on July 5, 2020. She was born on September 7, 1938 in Questa, New Mexico to Carlos and Merejilda Martinez. She married the love of her life, Richard Madrid, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He preceded her in death in 2016. They spent 60 loving years together.
Maggie was a loving and devoted mother to her sons – Rick, Steve, and Alan. She was an angel as a Mother-in-Law. She treasured her children and grandchildren, and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved and excelled at being a Grandmother. Maggie was an excellent cook and shared her skills with her sons and grandkids. She retired from Granite School District after 23 years of service.
Maggie is survived by her three sons and their wives Rick (Toni), Steve (Annette), Alan (Lori), brother Gasper-Marty (Linda) Martinez, sister Arbella-Archie Melton, sister-in-law and husband Anita and Johnny Gallegos, brother-in-law and wife David and Janet Madrid, sister-in-law and husband Carol and Juan-Tony Lopez, grandchildren – Lashelle, Crystal, Allan, Jennifer, Tommy, Marcus, Brandi, Amanda, Alicia, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Madrid, sisters Eva Herrera, Rose Martinez, brothers Moises Martinez, Melecio Martinez, and grandson Jeremy Madrid.
An outdoor funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A viewing will be held two hours prior beginning at 12:00 PM inside of the building. Interment to follow at the same location.
Due to COVID-19, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries is offering a free live stream of the services. To participate in the services from your own home, please view streaming instructions below. The Salt Lake County COVID-19 restriction also mandates that all public gatherings require a mask or similar face covering. Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries will also monitor the amount of people inside of our building to a maximum of 50 people at a time per Salt Lake County’s guidelines.
