Mae Viola Reed

Our beloved wife, mom, Momma Mae and friend, Mae Viola Reed, 56 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by all her loving children and husband of 38 years on May 19, 2017.  Mae was born on Sept. 1, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Belarmino and Imogene Strong Martinez.  She married her best friend, Kent Kerr Reed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on May 11, 1979.  Mae’s life was a direct reflection of her selfless love for her husband, kids and most of all her grandkids.  She walked near to our Savior’s footsteps as she served and loved as He did.  Mae is preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Jeremiah Ross.  Mae was survived by her loving husband, Kent, their eight children: DJ (Melinda) Reed, Bryan (Irais) Reed, JJ (Shannon) Reed, Mandee (Brandon) Sosa, Jaynee (Ryan) Chandler, Brandee (Eric) Willmore, Julee (Randy) Ross and Josh (Katie) Reed, 18 and counting grand-babies, her sister Elsie (Lefty) Bier and her two brothers: Andy (Doris) Martinez and Joseph Martinez.
Momma Mae’s legacy and love will live on through all those that were blessed to know her.  The family expresses sincere appreciation to the a’MAE’zing staff at IMC Hospital Respiratory ICU ward in Murray, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Oquirrh Point 3rd Ward at 6525 S. Wakefield Way (6011 W.) at 11:00 am with a viewing beginning at 9:30 am.  There will also be a viewing Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at 6673 S. Clernates Drive (5330 W).
Interment: Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery
She will forever be known as Mom, Mother and MOMMA MAE!
