Mack D. Olson passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2014 in Salt Lake City. Born September 27, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Oluf G. Olson and Eva Ann Shelton. Married his sweetheart Dona Vee Fautin on October 19, 1948.
Mack was a W.W. II veteran serving in the Merchant Marines and was a member of the LDS church. Dad was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman and trap shooter and enjoyed these activities with his friends and family. He enjoyed boxing in his youth, and was a light weight champion. Mack worked in construction and was a retired teamster union member. Dad loved spending time with his family, telling stories to his grandchildren, playing the harmonica and singing his favorite songs.
Survived by his children Lynne (Scott) Carlsen, Blaine (Karalee) Olson, Terry (Mohsen) Arfai, and Leif (Kym) Olson; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, brother, Dean Olson and son-in-law Larry Butler. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Dona Vee, daughter Leslie, son Blair, daughter-in-law Denise Olson, sister Donna Caldwell and brothers, Kenneth, Ben and Clyde.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at the Butler 1st Ward, 2695 E. 7000 S. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday May 12 at the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. and 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
