M. Keith Midgley
June 17, 1935 — August 20, 2018
Marlin Keith Midgley died unexpectedly at his home on August 20th, 2018. Born in Salt Lake City on June 17th, 1935, his parents were Donald Thomas Midgley and Hazel Cartwright Midgley. He attended local schools and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Utah. After living and working in San Francisco where he obtained his CPA license, he returned to Salt Lake City. He worked many years for First Federal Savings and Loan as their Financial Vice President. He was also active in the Financial Managers Society.
In 1960 Keith married Lorraine Collard in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with three wonderful children and many beloved pets over the years. Keith loved golfing and was an avid golfer for most of his life. He was a talented handyman and was a wiz with tools around the house. Throughout his life he had a love of music, enjoying many musical events. He loved traveling, and after retirement was able to enjoy many special trips.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, he served a mission in the California Mission, later he and his wife Lorraine served an Inner City Mission. For the past thirteen years up to his death, he was serving as a worker in the Salt Lake Temple. During the past year he served in the presidency for the Highland Care Center Branch.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Quentin Midgley. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, his children Richard Midgley, Kathleen Watkins and her husband Gary, Greg Midgley and his wife Angie, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
