Lynn Reed Sanders

May 18, 1947 — March 15, 2017

Lynn Reed Sanders passed away March 15, 2017 in West Valley City, UT.  He was the oldest of three children born to C. Reed Sanders and Ila Jean Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Elke, five children, David (Joel), Mark (Sarah), Scott (Lisa), Angela Brinkerhoff (Blake), Kristin LaBruzza (Aaron); ten grandchildren, Whitney, Patrick, Jonah (Katie), Olivia, Lexi, Ethan, Isabella, Ember, Gavin and Anika, and one step-granddaughter, Taylor Powell.  He is also survived by his younger brother, Gary (Sandy).
Lynn Graduated from South High School in 1965 and joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation.  He completed basic training in Amarillo, TX and then was stationed in Bitburg, Germany.
He married Elke in 1967 and spent their first three years of marriage in Germany where they made many dear and life-long friends before settling in Salt Lake City, UT.
He was owner and President of A-Tel Communications for many years.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many capacities including ward executive secretary for eight years.  Most recently he completed a five year service mission as First Counselor in the Freemont Branch Presidency.
We would like to express our appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital and to the nurses and staff at Rocky Mountain Care- Hunter Hollow.  Thank you for the exceptional care of Lynn and for your support.
There will be a viewing on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 E 7800 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84121.  Funeral Services will be held March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Memorial Estates with a viewing one hour prior.
