Lynn Monroe Hood passed away February 27, 2016. He was born to parents Clyde R. Hood and Theresa H. Hood of Salt Lake City, Utah on July 28, 1930. He attended Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. Musically talented, he performed leading roles in several musicals while at Davis. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. As a salesman, he worked for The Olivetti Company for many years and later worked for ZCMI. He earned his pilot’s license and loved flying small aircraft. He especially liked to travel. He enjoyed many pets during his life, grieving deeply when the departed this earth. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at North Canyon Care Center (Bountiful, Utah) for the care and kindness extended to Lynn and his family.
The entire family also wishes to express great gratitude to his oldest grandson, Keith D. Hood and his wife Melanie, for the countless hours of computer research for correct records, organizing belongings and for the timely management of Lynn’s finances during his extended illness. Lynn is survived by sons, David A. Hood, Kearns, Utah and Brent K. Hood (Michael), Cottonwood Heights, Utah; daughter, Pam (John) Mathews, Sandy, Utah; grandsons, Keith D. Hood (Melanie) Bountiful, Utah and AJ Mathews (Brittany) Herriman, Utah.
Preceding him in death were his parents Clyde and Theresa Hood; brother, Wayne Hood and sons, Larry C. Hood and Cary A. Hood.
A graveside service will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10 am. Friends and extended family are warmly invited to attend this gathering which is to be held in lieu of a viewing/funeral.Service Information
