Lynn Labrie Jensen passed away at Saint Mark’s hospital on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the age of 82 due to pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by many family members and had the rare opportunity to tell most of his family goodbye before his passing. He was born in Randlett, Utah on February 21, 1933. Lynn was a gentle and good man with a fun sense of humor. He was an amazing dancer. He was also a very hard worker and retired from is full-time job at the age of 81! His best qualities were his kindness and good nature.
He proudly served his Country as an Army MP during the Korean War. He gave his illness a valiant fight, but after accepting there was no cure he knew the fight was over.
Lynn married Ermond Nielson in 1952 and they were later divorced. He married Maricolleen Burridge Watson and they were married for 21 years until her passing in 2001. He is survived by his sister, Afton Rogers of Randlett, Utah and his brothers Stan of Duchesne, Van of Riverton, Wyoming and Virgil of Salt Lake City. He is also survived by his children, Karl (Jennifer) Jensen, Diana (Joe) Jensen-Burns, Wade (Stacie) Jensen, all of Salt Lake City and Daniel Watson of Santa Barbara, Mike Watson (ex-wife Talle), Liz Brown (fiancé Adam), Shana Watson, all of Salt Lake City along with many nieces and nephews, 13 grand-children and 11 great grand-children. Lynn was preceded in death by his sister Marie Jensen, brothers George and Ed Jensen, and both of his previous wives.
There will not be a viewing. The family gathering will be at 1:00 pm and the funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Funeral services and interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South) in Cottonwood Heights (Salt Lake City), Utah this Thursday, September 3, 2015.
We love you Papa and will miss you more than words can say, but we knew it was time for you to go. Dust off your dancing shoes and give everyone a kiss for us. The stars are your dance floor now!
