Lynn Jensen

September 18, 1946 — June 13, 2017

On June 13, 2017 our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Father-in-law, and friend passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Lynn Jensen, 70, of Draper, UT genuinely loved his family and friends. Lynn will be best remembered by his large smile, infectious laugh and raw, unfiltered sense of humor. He was happiest when he was on the golf course or making others laugh.
Lynn was born September 18, 1946 to Arnold M. and Madelyne E. Jensen and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up, he had a passion for baseball, he played from little league all the way through high school where he lettered in baseball and graduated from Highland High in 1965. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends. Lynn joined the United States Army Reserve (USAR) and was honorably discharged in November of 1971. He fell in love with the game of golf and played every chance he could. He joined Alpine Country Club in 1988 where he was a member for 20 years. Those who knew Lynn best know he always had a story to tell, and those closest to him earned a nickname that often stuck for life.
Lynn spent most of his professional life in sales in the transportation industry. He helped start up a few successful freight companies before starting his own on May 1, 2000. From that day on his passion for Interwest Transportation, its customers, and employees was undeniable. He loved going to work, visiting with customers, feeding the employees, telling stories and watching what he started grow.
Lynn is survived by his three sons: Chad Jensen of Mesa, AZ, Todd Jensen of San Diego, CA, and Brandt (his favorite daughter-in-law Jessi) Jensen of Draper, UT. His Four Grandchildren: Alex Jensen, Tyler Jensen, Paige Harp, Kayden Jensen. His five sisters: Anavon Baker, Janet (Robert) Glines, Kara Lee (John) McAllister, Helen Matson, Carol Lee Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents: Arnold M. Jensen and Madelyne E. Jensen. His sister Marlene Gerrard, and four brothers-in-law: Robert Gerrard, Ron Matson, Bob Wilson, Pete Baker.
