Lynn Bates Bandley

September 6, 1957 — July 3, 2014

Lynn left this mortal life surrounded by her loved ones on July 3, 2014 at the age of 57. She was born in Walnut Creek, California on September 6, 1957 to Dee and Donna Bates. The fourth born of six children, Lynn was blessed to be raised in a loving home. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah after meeting her eternal companion, Rees Walter Bandley. They married April 16th 1987, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple with their daughters, Tori and Nicole.
Lynn loved the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling to Southern Utah, camping, gardening and riding her bike. Lynn was always known for her baking, making perfect pies and those famous oatmeal raisin cookies. For her, the real joy in baking was sharing the finished product with all those who entered her home. Lynn loved spending time with her grandchildren on walks, doodling with side walk chalk, solving puzzles and building snowmen in the back-yard. Her deep love for children extended into her professional life where she devoted twenty years working at the Montessori Community School as the Director of Admissions. She loved the people she worked with, staff, parents and children alike. Lynn gave years of love and service for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She and her husband served in many church callings and had just completed a 2 year service mission. Her faith and testimony remained strong throughout her life, a beacon to those who knew her. Lynn was a constant example of joy, gratitude and service. She chose to be happy and to bring sunshine into the lives of others, even through great pain in the remaining years of her life. She will never be forgotten and we know she will continue to watch over us.
Lynn is survived by her parents Dee and Donna Bates, her loving husband Rees Walter Bandley, her two daughters Tori Lane Bandley and Nicole Jacobs (Josh), eight grandchildren, her siblings Dianna, David (Debbie), Marsha (Dane), Reid (Kathy), Susan (Brett) and many other friends and family.
