Lyle Willson

April 9, 1947 — January 8, 2020

Lyle (Lamar) Willson, was born April 9, 1947 in Price, Utah to his parents Willis Willson and Leatha Mary Atwood. Lyle left this world peacefully and returned to his Father in heaven on January 8, 2020 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by his children.
Lyle was an outdoorsman at heart, nothing he enjoyed more than being out in nature, whether hunting, fishing, camping, hiking or just enjoying the surroundings. Lyle was also John Wayne’s biggest fans, or one would think. If not in nature, he was watching “The Duke” or enjoying a good classic Western Melody. Often times he could be found taking walks or exploring the mountains for rare and precious stones with family. This is where he found the most peace in life. Fishing and hunting were favorite activities he enjoyed doing with his children, which was often as possible.
Lyle graduated high school and he volunteered to serve in Vietnam, shortly afterwards. Serving one tour and three years as a United States Serviceman. He was a dedicated soldier and received an honorable discharge for his valiant duty. His service time was between 1965 – 1968.
After military service, Lyle met and married Nadine Johnson, in which they started a family together. With six children and nineteen years of marriage Lyle and Nadine separated. Finding another companion, Lyle married again until 2012. With these memorable events behind him, Lyle dedicated the remaining time of his life to family, friends and nature.
Lyle would often share his times of service with others or talk to them about his children and the families that they have. He enjoyed talking to and staying in touch with his siblings and sharing his time and life with them.
Lyle was a very skilled mechanic and craftsman, teaching these talents to his children. A dedicated man to his work, he remained in the oil fields as a plant operator for different facilities in Utah and Wyoming for 40+ years. A shining example as a hard-working father, his children lived by this example and many of his other finer features.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he had the honor to see his children partake in the fruits and love of God as he did. Lyle did see the Majesty of God in all things and tried to convey this to family and friends as often as he could.
How ever family and friends remember Lyle, he will always remain in our hearts as a devoted, hardworking, stubborn and strong man. Lyle was a man of nature and great fortitude, with a wealth of skill and knowledge to share to anyone who would partake. Lyle will always be remembered as a friend, a father, a brother and a solider. May we always remember and honor the goodness and respect this man carried and showed.
Lyle is survived by his brother Richard, his sisters: Ethel, Lilas, Illa, Shirlene and Lynette. His children: Shawn, Renee, Leann, Kelly and Michael, as well as 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by: Willis (Father), Leatha (Mother), Leroy (Brother), Larry (Brother), and Kevin (Son).
Lyle’s funeral will be held at the Chelemes Ward, located at 1245 South 1175 East in Clearfield, Utah at 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 14, 2020. A viewing will be held in the same building from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. There will be no interment services. A luncheon will immediately follow services. Flowers will be accepted as donations.
In loving memory, may we have the fortitude he had and love that God has, you will always be missed.
