Luella Mackay Newbold

January 20, 1930 — September 17, 2018

Luella MacKay Newbold was born January 20, 1930 in Granger (WVC), Utah and died in West Valley City September 17, 2018. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Harold J. Newbold for over 71 years. She served a Latter-day Saint Mission with her husband to Belize and the Philippines.
Luella was talented in various art forms: She led and sang in many local and regional choirs; owned and operated a beauty salon and later a ceramics shop where she taught classes and produced ceramics and porcelain jobs; a prolific artist with oil paintings in art shows and in homes across the country.
Luella is survived by daughters Jean Soderquist and Barbara (Mickie); 12 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren as well as a multitude of friends whom she loved.
She was reunited with her husband Harold (died Dec 2017) and daughter Peggy (died Sept 1977).
A short funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive with a viewing one hour prior to services followed by interment at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S. Memory Lane (1990 E.). Condolences may be shared www.memorialutah.com
