Ludvig Dipo Olsen, 85, peacefully passed away at his home Sunday October 9th, 2016. He was born on May 17th, 1931 in Salt Lake City and was married to his sweetheart, Jackie in the Salt Lake Temple on March 5th, 1956. Lud is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jacqueline (Jackie), their children, Wayne, deceased (Renee), Reed (Michelle), and Cheryl (Stephen), and his siblings, Glen (Loretta) and Gwen (King). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludvig and Nancy, and his sister Ludean. He grew up in South Salt Lake and served a 2 ½ year mission in Denmark. He then attended the University of Utah and started working as a brick mason. He worked as head of maintenance at South Davis Waste Water Treatment Facility and later Lud was a plumber for the LDS church. He retired from Central Valley Water Reclamation as head of maintenance. He loved to go camping and fishing with his family. He and his wife explored Southern Utah year after year and never got their fill. It was his passion to get out there. There wasn’t a belt buckle, pen, flashlight, or pocket knife he didn’t like. He spent his life faithfully serving out callings in the LDS church and gave service to many. You could find him every weekendtacking on a roof or shoveling cement. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at the Bountiful Twelfth Ward, 1476 North 300 West Bountiful, Utah. The viewing will be 11:30-12:30 followed by the funeral service at 1pm. Special thanks to Barton Creek and Hospice for their exceptional care.Service Information
