Louise McFarlane, age 92, passed away peacefully at home March 22, 2020, in Kearns, Utah. She was born on August 15, 1927 in Midvale, Utah to Karlo & Matija Serdar. She married Charles “Bud” McFarlane February 22, 1948 in Elko, Nevada.
Bubba loved going to concerts in Wendover with Bud. Mom also attended concerts with family members at Usana and Vivint. Bubba loved her shit-kicker music! She loved taking care of her grandkids and great-grandkids and teaching them how to cook and bake. Bubba was an excellent cook. She would set aside one day of the week to do laundry and ironing/pressing all the clothes for her family. Although she liked cooking and laundry, she hated all other household chores. Good thing Bud didn’t mind doing the chores. She would watch her soap operas, Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. The only thing on her bucketlist was to see Daniel O’Donnell live and Leah was able to take her to see and meet him in Branson, Missouri. For the last two years, the kiss from Daniel O’Donnell was something Bubba never forgot. Bubba’s main focus was making sure her family was cared for, in life and after death.
She is survived her three daughters Susan (Lynn), Marilyn (Gary), and Louise (Steve); eight grandchildren Tina Fordin, Eric (Liz) Wiseman, Jason (Katie) Stewart, Leah Stewart, Zac (Amanda) Stewart, Emily (Jared) Kumor, Natalie Potter, Joshua Potter; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Karl (Barbara) McFarlane; sisters-in-law Larene Serdar and Diane Serdar; and her lifelong gossip-friend LaVon Mason. Bubba and LaVon would always keep the landline busy. The neighbors across the street were more than neighbors , Ken and Carol Lund.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles “Bud” McFarlane; 5 sisters Mary, Katie, Tillie, Marge, and Annie; her 5 brothers Tony, Joe, Matt, Jack, and Charles; and her parents Karlo and Matija Serdar.
We would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and everyone that helped to take care of our mom. They provided her with excellent care and compassion and all of their blessings.
