Louise Annette Metcalf

November 13, 1954 — October 14, 2020

Louise Annette Metcalf, 65, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2020 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three years prior. She was surrounded by her family.
Louise was born in Belleville, Illinois to Edward and Loraine Raiser on November 13, 1954. She was the oldest of three children, having one sister and one brother. She attended Reynoldsburg High School in Ohio and graduated in 1973. She also attended BYU-Hawaii, Ohio State University, and BYU-Provo.
She married the love of her life, Raymond Neil Metcalf, on October 1, 1976 in the Washington D.C. Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married for over 44 years and welcomed six children into their family.
Her greatest passions were her family and her belief in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Louise’s greatest joy came from her extraordinary nurturing of their six children and their decision to be faithful to the eternal covenants that each of them have made. She served continuously from the age of 12 in various callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Stake Primary President and Ward Relief Society President. Her guiding principles were to “try to be happy and remember to help others.”
Singing and appreciating music was a comfort to Louise and brought joy to her life. She sang with the Southern California Mormon Choir for ten years and served for five years as the choir’s public relations coordinator. For over a decade, in addition to caring for her own family, she cared for numerous children in her home whose working parents felt that she loved them as her own. When her youngest child started school in 1997, she began her twenty year career working with special needs children in the Simi Valley Unified School District.
Louise is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, her sister, Ginny Raiser, her brother, Aaron Raiser and her six children: Aaron (Amy) Metcalf, Jensa (Ryan) Anderson, Elise (Lane) McKellar, Nathan Metcalf, Megan Metcalf, and Breanne Metcalf. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends.
