Louis Lopez, 93, of West Jordan, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, with his family by his side.
Louis was born in April 12, 1930 to Juan and Maclovia Lopez in Las Trampas, New Mexico. He graduated high school in New Mexico and went on to serve in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 25 years.
After his service, he moved to Utah, where he met and married the love of his life, Onnie. They went on to have seven children, which they raised in West Jordan.
Louis loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and gardening. He also loved volunteering his time with the food pantry at his church. However, nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent with his family and his devotion to his Catholic faith. One of his favorite pastimes was making people laugh. His sense of humor stands out as one of his most memorable traits; he always had a story or joke ready to make people laugh.
Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Onnie Lopez; daughter, LuAnn; son, Johnny; daughter, Carrie; son, Frankie and granddaughter, Rachel. He leaves behind his children Louis (Gail), Kathy Ainsworth, and Andy (Jodie)- as well as his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
To our amazing dad, our hero, we wanted to thank you for being there for us every step of the way. Thank you for your guidance, your support, and your unwavering love. We can never put into words how much you mean to us. You will leave a huge hole in our hearts, but we hope you are at peace.
