Lorin Gardner

Lorin Russell Gardner, age 81, passed away on September 15, 2021, in Murray, Utah. Lorin was born on August 20, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Helen and Lamar Gardner. Lorin had a love for fishing that included frequent fishing trips to the Northwest Territories and a love of fast sportscars (including several Porsches, a De Tomaso Pantera and the first Delorean in Utah).
Lorin graduated from Olympus High School and served a mission in Germany.  He worked with his father (Lamar) and older brother (Irv) as a small business owner of Gardner Optical in Salt Lake City from the 1960s into the 2000s.
He is survived by, Russell J Gardner (son), Gregory L Gardner (son), Irv Gardner (brother), Evelyn Jacks (sister), Scott Gardner (brother), Beverly Karras (girlfriend / partner), and eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by, Lamar Gardner (father), Helen Gardner (mother), Jeniel Gardner Gerlach (sister), Linda Cook Gardner (former wife) and Janey Gardner Lofthouse (daughter).
A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday 09/21/2021 at the Salt Lake Cemetery.
