Loretta Faumuina

Our beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Loretta Faumuina passed away on Sunday August 30, 2020. She was surrounded by loved ones and in the comfort of her home.
Loretta was born in American Samoa on July 3, 1961, daughter of Totua Nonutunu and Fanua Unutoa. She moved to Hawaii, where she attended Brigham Young University-Hawaii and enjoyed dancing at the Polynesian Cultural Center. She served a full-time mission in Western Samoa for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she made life-long friendships. She eventually met her true love, Uitilafi Faumuina, whom she married for all time and eternity in the Laie Hawaii Temple on November 5, 1983.
Loretta is the mother of three wonderful children – Lila (Brandon), Lafi (Kailla), and Perenise. She was completely devoted to her grandchildren and loved them dearly – Lafi, Jorja, Malia, and soon-to-be Baby Boy Faumuina.
The family would like to thank the staff at LDS Hospital-8th Floor Unit for the kindness and care they gave Loretta.
A Family Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 5-7pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, Cemetery, and Pet Garden, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. The Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, Cemetery, and Pet Garden, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
All services will be held outdoors, practicing social distancing. Masks are encouraged. We invite all friends and family to join us in celebrating the life of Loretta, but for those unable to attend, live-streaming of the services are offered by Memorial Mortuary (see instructions below).
