Loraine Briggs Ekberg

April 29, 1948 — May 4, 2022

Our loving wife, mother and grandmother Norma Loraine Briggs Ekberg, 74, passed away peacefully May 4, 2022, with her family by her side in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born in Nampa, Idaho on April 29, 1948 to Kate Lavon Johnston and John Victor Briggs.  She spent most of her childhood in Idaho and Nevada and later married and moved to Salt Lake City where she spent most of her adult life.
She tirelessly and selflessly served those around her, always putting others needs before her own.  She was compassionate, loving and kind.
Family came first for Loraine, especially gatherings for holidays and events. She had a special way of creating the smallest memorable details and making everyone feeling like the most important person in the world.
She really loved visiting all of the National Parks and cruising all over the world (South Pacific, South America, Alaska).  She enjoyed reading, watching and collecting movies, playing games, and going to their cabin in Island Park, Idaho and taking day trips into Yellowstone National Park.
Loraine is survived by her husband Terry Ekberg; her children Brandon (Cheryl) Ekberg, Trisha (Aaron) Dent, Niel (Melissa) Ekberg, and Devin (Amanda) Ekberg; her sister Beverly (Jerry) Sullivan; and grandchildren Dan (Heidi) Ekberg, Olivia (Parker) Ekberg, Sam Ekberg (serving an LDS mission in Porto Alegre Brazil), Julia Ekberg, Cortney Dent, Abby Dent, Sarah Dent, Zach Dent, Quin Ekberg, Zoee Ekberg, Elin Ekberg.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Kate Johnston and John Briggs; her brother Wade Briggs; and her dear son Brett (Kristie) Ekberg.
A viewing will be held at the Cottonwood 8th Ward (6301 S 2300 E, Holladay) on Saturday, May 7 from 11-12 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 pm.  A private graveyard service for close friends and family will follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
