Lola Benson

Lola Irene Benson passed peacefully to the other side of the veil on Monday, June 13, 2022. Lola was born October 19, 1940 in Moore, Idaho to Glen and Eleanor Rothwell.  She married Jesse Lynn Benson on October 29, 1960.
She grew up on a farm and had a passion for animals of all kinds, especially horses. She could talk about her childhood stories of horses all day. She had many pets throughout the years including cats, dogs and birds. She was an excellent cook and could make some of the best homemade scones and tortillas. She taught us all the clearance racks were the only place to shop. She enjoyed her stories – both in her books and in her daily soap opera of choice. She loved talking with all people, including strangers.
Lola loved her family and kept them all on their toes with her sugar and spice.  She was married to her husband Jesse for 51 years before his passing in 2011. We are sure she has been eager for their reunion. Lola likely will not be wearing her seatbelt on the way to heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Richardson and Vicki (Michael) Gallegos; Grandchildren, Mallorie (Matt) Harker, Matthew (Shannon) Coffin, Morgan (Jason) Pickering; and six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, her parents, and two brothers and a sister, Harold, Herb, and Marie.
Viewing & funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2:00 at the Memorial Murray Mortuary 5850 S. 900 E, Murray, Utah.
