Lisa Church
1958 – 2016
Lisa Church died Sunday, June 19, 2016 from injuries sustained in a bicycle/truck collision which occurred on June 15, 2016. Lisa was born as the eighth and youngest child to Ione Jones Church and Jack F. Church, in Burley, Idaho on November 16, 1958.
Lisa was the cutest and liveliest little girl you have ever seen. Her parents both preceded her in death as did her brother Glen J. Church M.D. of Ogden, Utah. Lisa is survived by six siblings: Sisters: JoAnn Armstrong (Joseph) of Provo, Utah and Lausanne Jensen (Mitch) of Park City, Utah. Brothers: J. Lynn Church of Salt Lake City, Utah; Eric J. Church of Tempe, Arizona; Robbin J. Church of Provo, Utah; and Stan J. Church (Susan) of Gilbert, Arizona. Lisa dedicated her life to her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the “favorite” aunt and much beloved.
Lisa had an extremely vivacious, outgoing, friendly and very exciting personality. She attracted many loving friends.
She was educated in Salt Lake City schools and graduated from Skyline High School. She attended BYU and was a Cougarette renowned for her dancing abilities. She attended BYU study abroad in Israel and ultimately graduated from the University of Utah.
Lisa worked for many years in the restaurant industry, 10 years as a flight attendant, and in a variety of other sales and marketing jobs. She was famous for her service to others and made fantastic caramels, penuche, and candied yams which she loved to share along with her other culinary delights.
Lisa had a particular gift of love for all children. She will be honestly and tremendously missed. She is a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lisa chose to be an organ donor and is to be honored, loved and admired for that.
Funeral services will be held at the South Cottonwood Ward at 5602 S. Vine St., Murray, UT on Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the same chapel preceding the funeral from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. Lisa will be buried at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery 3115 E. 7800 S, Cottonwood Heights, (SLC) Utah.
