Linda Taylor

Linda Taylor – age 72.  Beloved daughter, sister, grandmother, teacher, and friend passed away suddenly on September 28, 2021.  Linda was fun and intelligent and interesting to be around; she loved people and was a loyal friend.  She was a comedian and she was always the life of the party.  She could also be serious and was a mentor and minister to many, and she taught by example how to live a worthy life.
She was born July 7, 1949, in Salt Lake City to Vernon James Taylor and Marian Brown.  She was the third of five children: Robert Taylor -deceased, Barbara T. Granger-deceased (Jim), Kaye T. Madsen (Russell), and Dell V. Taylor (Denise).  She was raised in Holladay, Utah.  She also lived in Curitiba, Brazil, with her family for three years as a teenager.
Linda graduated from Olympus High School.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree from BYU and a Master’s degree from the University of Utah in Psychology and Special Education.  She was a school teacher to inpatient children for seven years at Primary Children’s Hospital.  She later changed her focus to computers and worked in software development, quality assurance, and documentation, for various companies, and retired as a business analyst and project manager at United Health Care.
Not content to stay home, she took on extensive schooling and earned a Master Gardener Degree.  It was put use in the Garden Center at Home Depot.
In early days she was a fierce and talented athlete; she enjoyed competition and just getting out there.  She was able to teach, coach, and referee many sports. She had to set aside participation, due to arthritis and injury.  She never stopped being competitive, but she had to find other places to excel.  She was a gifted musician, and many of you will remember her playing her guitar and singing in that beautiful voice.  She was a gifted songwriter.
Linda had many health issues and trials over the years, but she persevered.  Even after dozens of surgeries she had an ever-optimistic point of view and was looking forward to returning to her part time job.
Linda loved her family.  She served her parents as a caregiver for many years as they aged. She was a grandmother to three generations… she was Grandma Linda, a FUN Grandma!  Her ‘kids’ made her grin from ear to ear.  Her influence and love will bless them forever.
Linda always put up a wonderful and unique Christmas tree.  Each year she invited friends and neighbors to enjoy the fun decorations and amazing Nativities. She loved reading, family, movies, friends, music, travel, and she was constantly learning something new.  If she could make you laugh and cheer you up, then her day was complete.
She lived what she believed every single day.  She was a talented, well prepared, and thoughtful teacher.  Linda was very generous and lived a life of kindness and service.  She had integrity and was honest. She had great faith in Jesus Christ and loved God.  She was devout in her faith and was well versed in the scriptures.  She is a shining example of enduring to the end.
