Linda Reed Zito

May 19, 1948 — March 3, 2017

Dear Mom,

You will never realize how special you were to us. You will never realize how much we loved and appreciated you, but instead we are sitting on your couch trying to hold back tears and comfort each other and our father. Dad is having a hard time, mom but that is to be expected from someone who was married to you for 45 years. You married our father David John Zito on April 15, 1972. We will miss you so much but we will remember the times we all had together as a family.
Do you remember all the family vacations we went on? Like the time the truck broke down and you were so worried; or when we were camping and you were so afraid of the lightning but you never let us worry or be afraid.
You always did everything for us; Stephanie, Kimberly, Jennifer and Melissa, your four daughters. You loved your son-in-laws Mark and Tommy like they were the sons you never had but always wanted. Family was everything to you and we knew it mom. You loved your grandchildren so much. First there was Ashlee, then came Ryan, Skylar, Christian, Jesse, Justin, Abby, Jacob, Maya and finally little Lily Bean. Riley, your great grandchild, whom you called Grandma’s little baby boy and your ‘Dolly’. He loved coming to your house every Friday to be babysat and you loved every minute of your time together too, which you proudly displayed in all the pictures you took of him. You loved Andraya, Kim, Cailee, and Ian just like your own grandchildren and they loved you too.
We enjoyed so many BBQs, family get togethers, graduations, weddings and even had to get through a few deaths but never did we think we would have to say goodbye to you so soon, so young.   We will always think of you when we see a home decorated like a professional as you had such an eye for putting things together and making them beautiful. We will always think of you when we smell your favorite perfume Raffinée or orange rolls baking in the oven on Christmas morning. We will chuckle when we think of your funky toe. We never minded going to get you a Ranch Burger, no catsup with extra white sauce and a shake.
You loved your two dogs Chewie and Mister. You loved going to bingo; going to the library to check out books and giving reading recommendations to us. You made sure we kept up the tradition of making gingerbread houses with the kids every year. You attended all of our sporting events and those of your grandkids too and were so proud of all of us.
You always made sure we looked and acted perfect right down to putting those brush curlers in our hair that we hated sleeping in. We always had clean, fresh sheets; you were the queen of doing laundry and ironing.
We are having a hard time believing this is real but you haven’t left us because we carry you in our hearts, out personalities, and in the smiles of our children and grandchildren. We are who we are because of you and for that we will always be grateful. We will never let your memory die and we will love you forever.
Like dad told you from the beginning; he loves you more than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and he really loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
