Linda Hagen Morrison passed away at the age of 76 on January 28, 2018 in Taylorsville Utah. She was born in Murray, Utah on April 15th 1941 to Walter Thomas Hagen and Frances La Von Duke.
She spent her childhood growing up in a small town named Garfield until she was 14 years old and later moved to Kearns Utah. She had 4 brothers and 1 sister. “Growing up with that many brothers made her tough” she said on more than one occasion.
Linda loved to decorate her house, especially around the holidays and always had something new to look at in her home. It fascinated the grandchildren who would walk around and say they loved to look at everything.
She was nick named “Nanny” by her first grandchild and known by it ever since. She loved doing projects, reading books, watching movies, (especially scary ones) collecting nick knacks and had a green thumb for any plant. She was mostly known for her story telling. Nanny always had a good story.
She married the love of her life, Bruce Morrison and loved to tell the story of how they met.
They were both walking up the stairs of their apartment complex with a birthday cake. She asked him who the birthday cake was for and he replied that it was for himself. It was his birthday and he then asked her who her birthday cake was for and she laughed and said “It’s for me, it’s my birthday too!”
Yes, both Linda and Bruce were born on the same day April 15th , Tax Day. They thought it was so funny that they shared cakes together and laughed that two people could have such bad luck to be born on that day. They fell in love and married the following year on January 23rd 1981. They were married 37 years.
She is survived by her brothers: James Hagen, Ray (Joyce) Hagen, William (Jo Ann) Hagen, Robert Hagen, Sister; Susan (Larry) Black, Her 5 children: Crystal Talbot, Debra (John) Hennessy, Teresa Jordan, Carl Winfield, Ruth (Roger) Jeffery; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ronald Hagen; her husband, Bruce Morrison and her two granddaughters; Shari Nelson & Ashley Finlinson.
