Linda Louise (North) Mitchell, 76, of Linton, Indiana passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was born in Midway, Utah on April 25, 1937 to Wallace Blakey and Wanda (Hunt) North.
Linda devoted her life to her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved to camp, bowl, play games, read, watch movies and visit with family and friends. She actively supported her husband and sons in scouting activities while in Bloomington, Indiana. Linda relocated frequently as an Army wife. Yet even after retirement, she had the need to move often; making her home in Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, Georgia and Indiana. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved visiting as many Temples as she could during her travels.
She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Mitchell of Lehi, UT, William (Ulrike) Mitchell of Provo, UT and Richard (Kanda) Mitchell of Lehi, UT; four daughters, Wanda (Jay) Zamber of South Jordan, UT, Cheryl (Fred) Mickelsen of Clearfield, UT, Debra (Jeffrey) Vaughn of Linton, IN and Barbra (David Gallegos) Pacheco of Mancos, CO; four brothers, Arthur (Joyce) North, Sherm (Delores) North, LaMar (Tracie) North, all of Salt Lake City, UT and Randy (Sue) North of Cabot, Vermont; two sisters, Sheila North of San Jose, CA and Bonnie (Jim) Malcolm of Tooele, UT; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and former spouse Michael G. Mitchell of West Valley City, UT.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, LaVar, Lloyd and Ronald; and two grandsons, Kirk Zamber and Steven McKinney.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial , 6500 So Redwood Rd in Salt Lake City, UT. The viewing will be at the same location at 10:00 a.m., and the internment will directly follow the services.
