Linda Kaye Rodgers Lester

October 19, 1947 — December 26, 2023

Magna

Born October 19, 1947, and passed away December 26, 2023 at the age of 76.

Linda was born in Gunnison Utah to Gwendolyn June Nelson and Cecil Rodgers.

Linda enjoyed creating new things from homemade birthday cards, decorations and crafts of all kinds. She loved being with her sisters, especially going to the movies and Sizzler for dinner or pressing their luck in Wendover. Christmas was her favorite holiday. For her, it was the most wonderful time of the year because it was spent with family and had many traditions. She participated in the yearly Christmas talent show showing off her wit and creative acts. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the “boobtube” (her word for tv) especially Judge Judy and Yellowstone while doing word searches.

Linda was the best mom, grandma, sister, and friend that anyone could ask for. She always kept in touch with her friends she made throughout her life. She met her longtime best friend, Gail Cowdell, in Jr High and remained best friends up until Gail’s passing in 2021. Linda was always sweet, kind, warm, and inviting to everyone that she encountered. Her laughter was contagious, and she always brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was very loyal and cherished those that were close to her. Punctuality was very important to her. If you weren’t there 15 minutes before, then you were late. She was highly respected, admired, loved and will be greatly missed. There will never be enough kind words to describe who Linda was and how much she made an impact on others.

She is survived by her daughter Sheila Carrell, granddaughters Reanna Carrell, Shaylyn Carrell Jowell (Troy), great grandson Teagan Rex Jowell, siblings Vicky Ann Rackley, Ricky Lynn Roberts (Anne), and Bonnie June Goodrick, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her mother, father, brother Michael Arthur Lloyd, husband Paul William Lester, son-in-law Kenneth Dan Carrell Jr, niece and great nephew Memorez Clark Rackley and Jase Dylan Rackley, Michelle Ann Turner, nephew Jason Anthony Rackley, and best friend Gail Cowdell.

The family is thankful to the caregivers who had taken care of Linda over the years at Intermountain, Castleview Hospital and her primary care physician. We are thankful to family members who have been there in support of Linda, her daughter and granddaughters who took care of her till the end.
