Linda Lea Swenson Dunn

June 4, 1946 — June 27, 2022

Linda Lea Swenson Dunn passed away in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, on June 27, 2022, from complications of metastatic breast cancer. Linda was born on June 4, 1946, in Burbank, California, to Roy Allen Swenson and Ruth Roberta Warburton Swenson. Linda moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, as a teenager and attended Highland and Olympus high schools before moving and graduating in the second graduating class of Skyline High School.
She married Rodney Duane Dunn in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1966. Rod had been serving a LDS mission in England when he saw pictures of “the new girl” in his home ward modeling in the Improvement Era. He declared that he would marry her when he returned home, and he did. Linda started her career working for First Security Bank, and also helped put Rod through pharmacy school. Afterward, Rod and Linda both owned and ran Millcreek Pharmacy with their son Jason, which was started by Rod’s father Bud in 1955.
Linda was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her entire life. She held multiple callings, including being in many Primary presidencies. She had a special affinity for the elderly and the young. One of her favorite callings was serving in the Holladay Health Care branch, which she did for over a decade. She was very generous with her time, talents, and money. She helped many people throughout her life in her roles as business owner, church leader, wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda had struggled with health for years, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple cardiovascular surgeries, and finally the cancer; but she was a rock and was a great example of hard work and perseverance.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Linda never missed a game, match, play, recital, or activity unless she was physically unable. Because of her family’s love of sports, she became the greatest team mom. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Disneyland and Disneyworld, or in her motorhome.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband Rod who passed away in 2011, her parents Roy and Roberta Swenson, her mother-in-law Burnetta Dunn, and in-laws Brian (Carol) Dunn and Paul (Holli) Dunn. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Dunn (Sarah Jane) and Jason Dunn (Cami), her brother Ronald Swenson (Mary), and in-laws Kathy (Kevin) Pugmire, Carol Dunn, Holli Dunn; many nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren: Connor, Ireland, Lauren, Kieran, Abigail, Rylee, Kelley, and Tess Dunn.
