Linda Jorgensen

March 4, 1945 — November 30, 2015

Linda Marie Kennedy Jorgensen died at home on the morning of Monday, November 30th. Wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, she is missed by many.
Linda was born to Bert Alvin Kennedy and Irene Velma Davis on March 4, 1945 in Phillipi, West Virginia. She was raised among close extended family in Morgantown, West Virginia. After joining the LDS Church at 16 years old, her family moved to Utah when she was accepted to attend BYU. She met her husband, Paul Jorgensen, on the first day in the registration lines.
They were married on March 27, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. After living in Germany during Paul’s military service they settled in Salt Lake City.
She was generous to a fault, an excellent cook, ready to feed the masses at a moment’s notice, and had a raucous sense of humor that brightened every room.
She served faithfully in many church callings, she had a strong testimony that she was always ready to share, and she set an example of strength, tolerance and acceptance for all of us to emulate.
After being the second-in-command at the family candy business, she went to work for Regence BlueCross BlueShield until she retired and moved to American Fork.
5 years ago she was diagnosed with a cancer that has no cure. She spent the last years of her life letting all of us know how much she loved us. She is now free of the debilitating effects of the cancer and the treatments that slowed it. She and Paul are delighted to be together again.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, mother and husband; and is survived by her children: Trudy Price (Jeff) of Salt Lake City, Katie Bagley (Lane) of American Fork, Clay Jorgensen (Brittany) of Herriman and Becky Black (Jesse) of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
All are welcome at the funeral services to be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11am at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E., Murray, Utah. Friends and family are also welcome at the viewing to be held Wednesday evening, 6pm-8pm and one hour prior to the service to say goodbye to this lovely lady. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
