Linda Cohen

September 18, 1944 — August 14, 2021

Linda Rose Cohen, age 76, passed away on August 14, 2021, in Salt Lake City. Linda was born to Rosetta Nuzzi and Carmine Nuzzi on September 18, 1944 in Flushing, New York. She married Robert Cohen on June 21, 1969.
Linda was highly accomplished earning top honors from Empire State College SUNY. She was particularly proud of being a computer software programmer and ahead of her time as a professional woman in many male-dominated roles. Linda was highly intelligent and placed in leadership positions throughout her long career, eventually gravitating toward agencies that helped the community, including leadership roles at Salt Lake County and Cornerstone Counseling Center. In her retirement, she worked as a senior service coordinator at Friendship Manor and volunteered for Salt Lake Aging Services, where she received the Utah Volunteer of the year award in 2020. Despite her tremendous achievements, she would tell you her most significant accomplishment was raising her son, Adam, to whom she was utterly devoted.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and survived by her loving son Adam, daughter-in-law Kali, her granddaughters, Izzy and Olivia, and her cat, Mary. Linda was very close to her wonderful sister, Albertina J. Lewandoski, and brother-in-law James A. Lewandoski. She adored her nephews and their beautiful families: Marc A. Lewandoski, his wife Sheila Devine, their son, Luca J. Lewandoski, and James A. Lewandoski, Jr, his wife Kerry Rafferty, and their sons, Mack J. Lewandoski and James J. Lewandoski. She loved her sister-in-law Helen Richter and her nephews Billy and Jordan Richter, who preceded her in death.
Linda was larger than life, her courageous spirit and genuine care for others will be remembered long after her passing.
