Lillie Lou Chaston

September 2, 1949 — November 1, 2020

Lillie Lou Chaston returned home to her Heavenly Father on November 1, 2020 , after a valiant battle with MDS at her home with her family at her side.
Lillie Lou was born September 2nd, 1949, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Arnold Doyle and Lillie Willmore Croney. She graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho and went on to LDS Business College, where she graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising. On February 2nd, 1969, she went out on a date with Will Chaston. After she got home, she told her roommate that Will was the guy she was going to marry. On February 26th, 1969, he said, “If I had a ring, I would ask you to marry me,” to which she replied, “Don’t let that stop you.” On June 12th, 1969, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple.
She served in many callings in her West Bountiful 2nd Ward, but her favorite was teaching primary with her husband. One of her other notable callings was as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple, where she served faithfully for five years. Outside of her church callings, Lillie loved camping, quilting, sewing, and spending lots of time in her garden.  With the bounty from her garden, she taught her children and grandchildren how to traditionally can and pressure can the vegetables she grew. Many times, she was offered fruits and vegetables that she would then put into bottles; it was a wonderful way to spend time with her family. She touched countless lives during her 27 years working at J&L Garden Center. People would stop her at the store while she was out shopping to ask her gardening questions and advice.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Arnold Doyle Croney, her sister, Corinne Iverson, children of three miscarriages that she is dearly looking forward to meeting and raising, and one great-granddaughter, Pearl Hope Muir.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Lee Chaston; daughter Kymberley (Michael) Bushey of Woods Cross, UT; son Robert (Gelina) Chaston of West Sacramento, CA; son Travis (Starlyn) Chaston of Sugarhouse, UT; mother Lillie Willmore Croney of Pocatello, ID; sister Lesa (Kelly) Manning of Rapid City, SD; and brother Jeffery (Sharlene) Croney of Idaho Falls, ID. She also has seven grandchildren: Shylo, Sara, Kelson, Trevor, Michael, Adele, and Norah.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude towards Horizon Hospice, especially to Katrina, Melinda, and Jenn for the faithful and wonderful care.  They would also like to thank the members of the Bountiful 2nd ward for all their service during this time.
