Lila Crookston

March 4, 1931 — October 13, 2017

Lila Jean (Williams) Crookston 86, of Sandy, Utah, passed away peacefully with family around her on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Our House Assisted Living in Ogden, Utah.
Lila was born on Monday, March 4, 1931 in Malad, Idaho. Daughter of William “Jink” Williams and Mary Williams. Sister of Jay (MaryKay) Williams (deceased), Florabell (Bud) Furgeson (deceased), Joy (LeRoy) Waggoner, Layton, Utah and (like a sister) Connie (Ken) Diebold, West Jordan, Utah.
Lila graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. She married Thomas James Crookston (deceased) on June 9, 1950 and later resided in Sandy, Utah where they raised their four children; Craig (Angie) Crookston, Cheryl (Paul, deceased) Sanchez, Debbie (Jon) Ciotti, Patty (Steve) Pacheco.
Lila retired from Allied Development in Murray, Utah where she worked over 25 years. She was well known there for her happy disposition. She made friends with everyone she met and always had a story to tell you.
Lila had 12 grandchildren and 16 great grand-children with another due in January. Her love for children and dogs went over and beyond anything else in life.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Boswell family, (owners of Our House Assisted Living) and the staff that took care of Lila while she was a resident there. She loved all her new friends she met there and absolutely adored all the staff.
Services for Lila Crookston will be at 2:00 PM, October 19, 2017 at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary. (6500 S. Redwood Rd.) Viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
We know grandma is now planting flowers and telling her stories to everyone in heaven. She is our “Guarding Angel”, watching over all of us until we’re together again.
