Lila Bensley

Lila Belle Hope Higley Bensley, 89, passed away on Sept. 20, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Sept. 11, 1924 in Rexburg Idaho to John Henry and Thora Evelyn Taysom Hope. She married Lorin A. Higley on Jan. 31, 1942, he preceded her in death in 1973. They moved to Salt Lake to spend the rest of their lives together. They had 6 children; Carol, Johnny, LaWana, Diane, David, and Teala. She married Marion J. Bensley in 1977. He passed away in 1995.
She loved her birds, being organized, going fishing, and family.
She is survived by her children, two sisters, one brother, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, daughter LaWana, two great grandchildren, one brother, and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00, Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Road. A viewing will be held from 6-8 Tuesday at the mortuary and one hour prior to services. Friends may leave condolences by going to www.redwoodmemorialpark.com
