Lester Junius Brooks

August 22, 1923 — April 11, 2016

Lester Junius Brooks was born August 22, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of four children, to William Band Ethel Jacoby Brooks. Graduated from West High School. Served in U.S. Marine Corps 1943-1945 during World War II.   Fought in the battles of Peleliu and Okinawa and was deployed to China.
Married Roberta Julia Coffey on June 1, 1946 in Wyoming. Solemnized in Salt Lake Temple April 15, 1955.  Active member of the LDS church his entire life. Proud father of seven sons.  Machinist at Eimco for 39 years.
Passed away April 11, 2016 in Bountiful, Utah. Survived by wife Roberta, sons Lester (Tammy), Michael (Deanna), Robert (Hollis), Mark, Daniel, 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by sons David, Thomas, parents, brothers William, George, sister Virginia.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 18th, 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake Rose Park Chapel 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City. Viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City.
