Lessie Marie Woods

Our beautiful Lessie Marie Woods, the love of our lives passed away January 4th, 2021 after a long illness. She was the heart and soul of our family. She celebrated life and every holiday with so much love and magic. She enjoyed playing the piano, bowling, shopping and telling the funniest stories that would leave us all in stitches. Most of all she loved being with her family, her beautiful daughters and the love of her life Alexander “Papa Bear” Davis.
Lessie was the baby girl of the family born August 20, 1983 at St Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is survived by her parents, Cornell A. Woods Sr. and Kathy A Woods. Husband and soul mate Alexander Davis. Beautiful daughters Khloe Bowers and Beatrice Davis. Sisters, Gloria (Davion) Pope, Courtney “Coco” Morgan, Yolanda “Pebbles” Brown and Brother Cornell A Woods Jr (Olga). Two nephews Marcos Morgan and Fagan Brown. Nieces, her mini-her Felicitas (Kareem), Kyree, Lilian and Stella. Avianna, Kelise, Alissa and her other mini-her Davina, and Leyah Woods. Two great nieces, Amirah and Amani and great nephew Alijah. Many many wonderful aunts and wonderful uncles, and many cousins. Many friends that she truly cared for.
Preceded in death by Grandparents Clarence and Lessie Woods, Great granddad Church and Rose Woods, Grandmother Gloria Morgan. Uncle Robert Morgan, Aunt Tupee, Aunt Peggy Ann Woods, and cousin Duane Jolley.

A funeral service will be held Saturday 01/16/2021 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah 84121. A viewing will be held from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the same location. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Due to Covid restrictions there will be a maximum allowed within the building.
 
Following Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a live streaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
