Leslie Shupe

September 19, 1931 — July 28, 2021

September 19, 1931 ~ July 28, 2021
Our loving Mother, Wife, and Gramma is now reunited with her loving sweetheart and our loving father, Richard H Shupe, at the age of 89.
Leslie Joan Dawson was born to Florest and Leslie Dawson in Pocatello, Idaho as the youngest of 7 girls. She recalled many memories of her childhood of singing, and playing in the streets of a small quiet town with her family and friends. She liked to tell all of us stories of her childhood, singing with her father in front of small gatherings, and telling us about witnessing the changes over the many years she lived her life.
She met her husband, Richard, in Pocatello, Idaho, and married him on September 15, 1951. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they raised 6 children in the Murray area. She and Richard had a strong faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and were later sealed in the temple for all time and eternity. She enjoyed many activities with her husband, and their closest friends such as fishing, golfing (only driving the golf cart of course), and playing poker. They enjoyed time in McCall, Idaho as a conjoined group family vacation every year, thus extending the Shupe family into a larger one. Family vacations meant the world to her, as she was able to spend quality time with everyone she loved. Leslie was an accomplished soprano. She sang everywhere she went. She was part of the Trio, Allegro Group, and the Choral Arts Society of Utah. She led the music in her ward, and in addition was The Primary chorister for many years, and enjoyed her many callings within the church. She also enjoyed attending and hosting Daughters of the Utah Pioneers meetings for many years. She loved her gardens, cross stitching, reading, singing, researching family history, puzzles, and playing Solitaire all day long while relaxing in her chair. Holidays were important to her. Every year she would hand make popcorn balls for Halloween, and caramel’s for Christmas.
Her sweet spirit will be truly missed by many she touched.
She is survived by her children Curtis (Judy) Shupe, Derek Shupe, JoanEllen (Val) Creamer, Melissa (David) Wright, Angela Shupe, her 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, daughter, Valear, Her parents, 5 sisters, daughter in law, Sheila, and many close friends.
Memorial services will be held at Murray Memorial Mortuary located at 5850 S 900 E, Murray, August 10, 2021 at 11am. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
