Leroy Grant North

April 10, 1926 — January 25, 2017

Loving husband, Great father, and even greater grandpa. Leroy “Pink” G North, 90, passed away January 25, 2017 at his home in Midvale, UT. He was born on April 10, 1926 to Sarah and John Grant North in Salt Lake City, UT. He attended Granite High school and served as Navigator 2nd class in the Coast Guard in WWII. In 1952 he married Virginia Wells, and together they had 3 children, Grant (Jean), Vicki (Bob) and Jerry as well as 7 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. They would have been celebrating 65 years on February 21, 2017. Pink worked as a trucker while working for Salt Lake County, IML, and PIE; plus dedicated himself as a Trustee for the Teamsters Union #222. He was an amazing unique soul, who was a horse man, camp maker, did the Uintas pack trips for 20+ years, family trips, always gardening, driving his plow, and always had a rope to teach all the family knots. He loved poetry, especially Cowboy poetry. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by Sarah & John Grant North, Birdie, Lorna, and Myrel. The family would like to thank Uila from Gentle Hearts, your love will always be remembered. Plus Beck & Benay at Good Shepherds.
