Leonora Cook

December 30, 1925 — November 22, 2016

Leonora Fay Spencer Cook, born December 30, 1925 in Kanab Utah, to Homer Brown Spencer and Clara Esplin.  She died November 22, 2016 at the age of 90, after a long and faithful life. She married Robert Harold Cook on May 14th, 1949 in the Saint George Temple. Leonora loved teaching elementary school and the gospel, serving as a missionary in Australia with her husband, and serving as a Temple worker in the Salt Lake, Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain Temples for 27 years. She and her husband Bob researched and submitted thousand of family names for Temple Ordinances. She loved homemaking, art, music, history, nature, and shared her many talents to bless the lives of others. She valued her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and believed Jesus Christ was her personal Savior, strengthening the faith of her friends and family. She has joined her beloved husband, parents, and five siblings. She is survived by her two brothers Loren her twin, and Gareth Spencer; Children: Robert M Cook (Gayle), Walter Brent Cook (Carol), Coralyn Smith (Taylor), Ruth Gledhill (Jim); 25 Grandchildren and 65 Great-grandchildren. She is loved by many and will be missed. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26th at the South Jordan LDS Stake Center, 2450 West 10400 S, South Jordan Utah at 11:00 am. Viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, Utah. To honor her tradition of service please bring one of the quilts she has made for you to the funeral. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the LDS perpetual education fund.
